about

I am a Research Scientist leading the Rendering Group at Disney Research Zürich. Before joining Disney Research in 2014, I received my B.Sc. (2007) and M.Sc. (2009) from the Czech Technical University in Prague, and my Ph.D. (2014) from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology under the supervision of Vlastimil Havran and Carsten Dachsbacher, respectively. I spent part of my undergrad and grad studies at the Union College, Schenectady, US and at the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

I interned at DRZ (2011), and at Pixar Animation Studios (2012), and also worked as a senior software engineer at the Walt Disney Animation Studios where I contributed to the Hyperion Renderer. My research interests span global illumination algorithms with focus on participating media, acceleration structures for ray tracing, and GPU computing.

I am happily married and recently became a father.
